The best design is only reliable if you can manufacture it without defects.  While the onus for defect-free manufacturing is often on the component suppliers and contract manufacturers, designing your product to be manufacturable is a critical and often overlooked step in the process. 

At DfR Solutions we have used our extensive knowledge of electronics manufacturing and our years of experience in auditing contract manufacturers to develop a high-level review of manufacturability (DfM).  This review goes beyond the typical computer-generated design rules available in most EDA packages, and identifies critical information such us:

Is the component manufacturable?

Is the component in the right location?

Is the component in the right orientation?

Is the board layout compatible with manufacturing processes and reliability expectations?
