Mechanical Shock

LansmontModel23ShockTester

DfR Solutions uses a Lansmont Model 23 Shock Test System to perform shock testing as specified by JEDEC Standard JESD22-B111, “Board Level Drop Test Method of Components for Handheld Electronic Products,” and JESD22-B110, “Subassembly Mechanical Shock.” The Model 23 that DfR Solutions uses features an extended drop height and acceleration elastics that allow shock testing at accelerations up to 5000 Gs.

The system is currently being utilized to investigate the effect of plating finishes on the robustness of SnAgCu interconnects during shock events.

As shown below by the unfiltered acceleration profile for a 20-inch drop, the Lansmont Model 23 provides a very clean shock pulse waveform with no perceptible secondary impacts or oscillations.
