College Park, MD – January 12, 2009 – DfR Solutions is very proud to announce that Dr. Nathan Blattau, Vice President and Chief Scientist of DfR Solutions, and Dr. Randy Schueller, Manager of the Minnesota Office, will be at the Lead-Free Electronics in Aerospace Project (LEAP) Working Group in Fort Worth, Texas, on Tuesday, the 27th and Wednesday, the 28th of January. Dr. Blattau will be presenting “An Overview on Vibration of Electronic Assemblies and What it Means for Pb-Free Reliability.” Dr. Schueller will discuss “Strategies for a Successful Transition to Pb-Free.”
“This presentation will highlight some of the differences in mechanical shock and vibration robustness that one may expect when transitioning from SnPb to Pb-Free solders,” said Dr. Blattau.
Regarding his presentation, Dr. Randy Schueller added, “It is unfortunate, but many industries that are currently exempt from Pb-Free requirements are finding that it is lower risk to make the conversion than to deal with a lack of SnPb components. This discussion will provide an outline of key areas of concern with highly complex Pb-Free assemblies and show how to deal with them.”
