College Park, MD – March 28, 2011 – DfR Solutions is very proud to announce that Edward Wyrwas, Member of Technical Staff, will present “Accurate Quantitative Physics-of-Failure Approach to Integrated Circuit Reliability” at IPC APEX Expo on April 13 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This presentation will discuss ground-breaking developments on the challenges of predicting the reliability of next-generation integrated circuits.

Mr. Wyrwas will describe how newer silicon-based technology can have lifetimes far below 10 years and how the current approach of the microelectronics industry, excessive reliance on JEDEC qualification tests, is inadequate and can conceal these risks from the OEM end-user. Mr. Wyrwas will especially focus on the four known on-die failure mechanisms and explain how the use of acceleration factors and standard design architecture can provide the circuit designer and component engineer the ability to independently assess the reliability of critical components. Mr. Wyrwas will then demonstrate how a recent field trial has validated this process. .
